Chelsea FC ready to offload French striker Anelka
May 12, 2008
Sensational transfer news are out of Stamford Bridge and it has been reported that Chelsea FC are ready to sell French international striker Nicolas Anelka less than six months after signing him from Bolton Wanderers for £15 million.
Local newspapers have reported that Anelka, 29, has failed to make a major impact since his arrival at Stamford Bridge and only manage to score two goals in 23 appearances for the Blues.
It is believed that Blues boss Avram Grant is wrestling with the problem of how to bring the best out of Anelka, who has not adapted to Chelsea’s style of play. He also needs to resolve Didier Drogba’s future.
I certainly believe that Anelka must be given more time. Anelka is a true talent and Chelsea are yet to see the best of him. If Chelsea are desperate to offload a striker then i believe Shevchenko is the more suitable candidate. I’m sure AC Milan won’t mind taking him back, for a lesser price of course.
