Manchester United midfield superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Brazilian midfielder Anderson believes that Sporting Lisbon’s Miguel Veloso will be very welcome at Old Trafford. As a matter of fact, Anderson went on a bit further and told Veloso himself that Manchester United would welcome him with open arms.

After beating Sporting Lisbon 2-1 in their Champions League clash, Anderson said that Veloso is a great player and the whole world knows this. Anderson also added that the player would be well received and it would be great for the player as he could reach his best and move on to greater heights.

Manchester United superstar winger Cristiano Ronaldo also added that Man Utd always open their doors to great players and Miguel Veloso is a great player.

Will Manchester United capture Miguel Veloso from Sporting Lisbon? Only time will tell…

Chelsea interested in Real Madrid’s Royston Drenthe

November 28, 2007

royston-drenthe.jpg

Chelsea FC has recently revealed their interest in Real Madrid’s Royston Drenthe and its football chief Frank Arnesen is monitoring the player’s deteriorating situation at Real Madrid.

It was also revealed that Arnesen and Chelsea’s Dutch football advisor Piet de Visser were both keen on landing Drenthe in the summer from Feyenoord, but Real Madrid managed to sign the player after the U21 European Championships.

It has been reported that Real Madrid are also trying to offload the player who has been surrounded by controversy ever since arriving from Feyenoord. This will be a very good opportunity for Chelsea FC to snap up the talented youngster who can play in all three positions on the left (left back, left winger, left forward).

I believe that when Royston Drenthe actually becomes available in the transfer market, many big teams will be chasing his signature and it will be interesting to see which club the young Dutchmen chooses.

Miguel Veloso is ready for Man Utd

November 27, 2007

miguel-veloso1.jpg

Manchester United assistant coach Carlos Queiroz admits Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso is being watched closely and is reported to be on their radar. Queiroz also believes that Veloso has what it takes to play for Manchester United. The Portuguese coach was instrumental in the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani from Sporting Lisbon.

It has also been revealed that Manchester United are set to use their Brazilian twins Fabio and Rafael Silva as bait to land Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso in January. However it is believed that the twins will be sent out on loan only.

Manchester United, who had an £8m bid for the 21-year-old midfielder rejected by Sporting, are preparing to return with an offer of £10m which is believed to be enough to trigger a get-out clause in Veloso’s contract when the transfer window reopens in January.

Miguel Veloso was also quoted saying that the best game of his career so far was the game against Manchester United and added that Manchester United is a great team and it’s a dream of every player to play for such a magnificent club.

Dimitar Berbatov plans to leave Tottenham

November 6, 2007

dimitar-berbatov.jpg

It has been revealed that Dimitar Berbatov will leave Tottenham Hotspur FC if the London based club fails to qualify for Champions League this season.

Spurs are believed to have come to a gentlemen's agreement that he can leave for a large fee if Tottenham fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.

Anyway it has been confirmed that Berbatov is not looking for a January transfer window move and the Bulgarian striker will be staying with the club to push for a Champions League spot.

With Berbatov making his intentions clear, i'm sure many clubs will be looking to sign the Bulgarian hitman no matter the price. Clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea will definitely be interested in signing the striker and i won't be surprised if offers come from abroad for the player. Spain or Italy maybe??
